Dr. Atik is a stereotactic and functional neurosurgeon with more than 14 years in clinical practice. At the University of Chicago Department of Neurosurgery, he uses image-guided and robotic stereotaxy to treat a range of conditions: drug-resistant epilepsy, movement disorders, treatment-resistant OCD and depression, and chronic pain, with deep brain stimulation, laser ablation (LITT), stereo-EEG, focused ultrasound, and radiosurgery.

He also leads research on network-level analysis of the brain and the integration of each patient's brain wiring (tractography) into surgical planning, working alongside the University of Chicago's multidisciplinary functional neurosurgery team.
